Frequently Asked
Questions
Who are we?
We are Christians who gather simply in the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I
in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20
"In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered
together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ." I
Corinthians 5:4
We are non-denominational, owning only such names as are given to the
children of God in the New Testament Scriptures, such as: believers,
brethren, saints, Christians, etc., any of which satisfactorily
describes all who belong to Christ.
"The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." Acts 11:26
"To the saints and faithful brethren which are at Colosse:
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ." Colossians 1:2
We have no formulated creed, but accept the Bible, which we believe
to be verbally inspired. The Word of God is our infallible guide in
all things.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness." II Timothy 3:16
We are those who observe in simplicity the ordinances left by the
Lord Jesus for His people, namely:
Baptism of true believers in Christ.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew
28:19
"Many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized." Acts
18:8
The Lord's Supper.
"And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto
them, saying, 'This is My body which is given for you: this do in
remembrance of Me." Luke 22:19
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." Acts 2:42
"For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto
you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed
took bread: and when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said,
'Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in
remembrance of Me.' After the same manner also He took the cup, when
He had supped, saying, 'This cup is the new testament in My blood:
this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.' For as
often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the
Lord's death till He come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread,
and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the
body and blood of the Lord." I Corinthians 11:23-27
Similar groups of believers in Christ, following the New Testament
pattern, meet in all parts of the world.
What do we believe?
The Bible is the Word of God, revealing His mind to us.
"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which
are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in
Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness." II Timothy 3:15-16
"Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual
things with spiritual." I Corinthians 2:13
"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy
men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." II Peter
1:21
That the One God eternally exists in three equal persons: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew
28:19
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all." II Corinthians 13:14
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten and eternal Son of God,
miraculously born of the virgin Mary, and the only One whose life
was absolutely sinless.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God." John 1:1
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as His mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was
found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being
a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was
minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these
things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto Him in a dream,
saying, 'Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary
thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS:
for He shall save His people from their sins.' Now all this was
done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the
prophet, saying, 'Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall
bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name 'Emmanuel," which
being interpreted is, 'God with us.'" Matthew 1:18-23
The total depravity of man through the fall in Eden's garden, and
that it is impossible for man to be saved by his own works or
religious observances.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans
3:23
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should
boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
That on the cross Christ paid the full penalty of sin forever, and
any person who in faith rests upon that finished work immediately
receives the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
"Verily, Verily, I say unto you, 'He that heareth My word, and
believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not
come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.'" John
5:24
"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, 'It is
finished': and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost." John 19:30
"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and
this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life: and He that
hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written
unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may
know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name
of the Son of God." I John 5:11-13
That God set His seal of approval to Christ's work by raising Him
from the dead.
"To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many
infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of
the things pertaining to the kingdom of God." Acts 1:3
"This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having
received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He hath shed
for this, which ye now see and hear. For David is not ascended into
the heavens: but he saith himself, 'The Lord said unto my Lord, 'Sit
Thou on My right hand, until I make Thy foes Thy footstool."
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath
made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ."
Acts 2:32-36
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name
which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things
under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11
The eternal punishment of every person who refuses to accept Christ
as personal Saviour.
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that
are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they
that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that
have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28-29
"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the
first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by
them that heard Him?" Hebrews 2:3
"And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose
face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no
place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before
God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which
is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works. And the
sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man
according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake
of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found
written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Revelation 20:11-15
That the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again for His own, raising
those who have died believing in Him, changing the living believers,
and taking them all to be forever with Him.
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even
so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this
we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For
the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." I Thessalonians 4:14-17
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:3
Why are we here?

How We Answered These Questions
We try to base how we gather and what we believe 100% upon what
the Bible says about these things. We try to come to the Bible
without our own ideas. This means that we do not look through the
Bible to try to justify something. We desire to simply obey what the
Bible teaches, recognizing that the Bible is the inspired and
infallible Word of God.
